SOUL FOOD

A GUEST HOUSE IN HARLEM
(in Mont Morris, NYC)

We are a guesthouse in Harlem, 10 blocks north of Central Park. We are located in a Victorian townhouse on a street lined  pedestrianized street. Our rooms are private bedrooms  in the 2 apartments  which comprise the townhouse. There is no elevator in this tribal art filled, eclectic guesthouse. The owners are always on site during your stay. It is a hosted experience. Think of it as a home away from home in a  vibrant and colourful neighbourhood in Manhattan, where you choose to interact with us as much or as little as you like.

Each room is private  with a  small table/desk to write on and  a private bathroom, none of the rooms have a kitchen.  The price ranges from  $175 - $275, depending on the  season. This is a Victorian Townhouse, please be ready to go  upstairs for your room. There is no elevator!
What makes us special?
We try to understand your unique NYC dreams and help make them reality.
From encountering one-of-kind guerilla pop-art, to finding the absurd, even hiking/exploring the Hudson Valley/rock climbing/kite-boarding.

"Thirteen years ago, was when we first visited. Staying here made a tremendous change in our lives. Since then, every time we come to New York (annually), we stay here, (at home with "our family"). In Oct 2017 worked on an art project  for 1 month there.

"Mont Morris is the place where I get my real NYC feeling! It's home. First time I came with my mum and my sister. The third time we brought dad with us. The fifth time our sister joined. She stayed 3 months. The seventh time I took my fiancé with me. Staying here has given NYC a new dimension that we wouldn’t have seen if they hadn’t shared all her favorite spots. All the rooms are unique and so personal, it’s hard to pick a favorite. I can't wait to go home again.

The most amazing place you will stay in New York City.  Every room  is inspirational and an expression of creativity.  The team are knowledgeable, patient, multi-lingual.  They have a wide array of things to do and places to see that only a seasoned New Yorker and someone who loves to travel would find.  The location in Harlem is picturesque and historical, and very close to the train and Central Park.  It is my absolute favorite.
The best way to experience New York
From the eyes of New Yorker who is willing to get lost.

New Yorkers live  in circles around triangles.
Triangle = Home, Work and Play.
We don't stray far from the points on the triangle = the circles

This is why New York is not overwhelming for us

We  carve out the chunks we need
and are happy to tell you what they are.
